WE CAN GET THROUGH THIS!

INTRO: In a time where people are questioning if they will be able to make it through this season, we can stand on this word: WE CAN GET THROUGH THIS!

Let’s all say it together: WE CAN GET THROUGH THIS!

Right now more than ever, it’s important that we guard what words we’re standing on and what words we’re speaking.

You will hear the news speaking negativity and fear into the world. You may even hear those close to you speaking fear, but you must decide what word you will stand on.

Will you stand on the world’s word or on God’s word?

The main question we are going to answer today in our P12 is “How do we get through this?”

There are 4 things we must do to get through this:

1. LISTEN TO THE WORD
Mark 4:35 (NLT) As evening came, Jesus said to his disciples, “Let’s cross to the other side of the lake.”

Whenever we face a difficult time, we must stand on a word from God.

Question: What is one of your favorite scriptures to stand on when times get tough?

We can always put our trust in God’s word because it will ALWAYS come to pass!

Isaiah 55:11 (NLT) 11 It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it.

God cannot say something and it NOT come to pass. It will always do just as He said. This is why we need to get a word from God in our storm.

Every word you speak will eventually come back to you in harvest form. You will get more of what you’re speaking.

Question: How can you improve the harvest that you’ve been receiving?

2. TAKE ACTION ON THE WORD

Mark 4:36 (NLT) So they took Jesus in the boat and started out, leaving the crowds behind (although other boats followed)

There are 3 main action steps we must take:

1. Get Jesus in the Boat – the boat that Jesus is in will ALWAYS make it to the other side.

Question: How can you make sure you have Jesus in your boat?
We must put our faith in HIS word, and not in man’s word.

2. Start – you cannot wait for perfect conditions to start acting on God’s word. You must believe and receive it now.

3. Walk away from the old – we must walk away from old mentalities, old mindsets, and old habits in order to walk into some new.

3. REMEMBER THE WORD
Mark 4:37 (NLT) But soon a fierce storm came up. High waves were breaking into the boat, and it began to fill with water.

At this time, the disciples were afraid because the boat began to fill with water. Their worry overshadowed their memory of the word Jesus already spoke: “CROSS OVER!”

Question: Sometimes we easily forget the word that Jesus already gave us when we’re going through a tough time. What are some things we can put into practice to ensure we REMEMBER God’s Word in the middle of the storm?

Remembering the Word in our darkest moments is what is going to get us through. It’s those who remember the word that will have peace in the middle of the storm.

Question: Tell us about a time in your life that standing on a word really got you through a tough time.

4. SPEAK THE WORD

Mark 4:38-41 (NLT) Jesus was sleeping at the back of the boat with his head on a cushion. The disciples woke him up, shouting, “Teacher, don’t you care that we’re going to drown?” 39. When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Silence! Be still!”Suddenly the wind stopped, and there was a great calm. 40 Then he asked them, “Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith? 41 The disciples were absolutely terrified. “Who is this man?” they asked each other. “Even the wind and waves obey him!”

When we speak the word, we are activating our faith! This is an important practice for all of us! We
must practice speaking faith, and not fear. Because the truth is you will speak one or the other.

Question: Let’s all practice speaking in faith. Declare one HOPE statement for you or the group.
