COMMAND #9 PART 3 - FOLLOW ME AS I FOLLOW CHRIST

  1. eview our group numbers: Did anyone recruit someone new to their power of 12? or to one of your disciple’s 12?
(take note of these changes in the app.)

Here is our 1 MONTH GOAL by SEPTEMBER 15TH

  1. Let’s make sure we PREPARE ALL MEMBERS OF OUR POWER OF 12 TO ATTEND MONTHLY RALLY.

  2. Let’s continue RECRUITING DISCIPLES. (Our Goal is to Complete the level of leadership we are on. People need to be discipled.)

Let’s begin with an important question:

Question: Since we consider ourselves to be disciples, what is something you learned from the teaching last week?

If we are commiting to being disciples, we must commit to making time to be discipled. We have to do away with the excuses that keep us from meeting. GET CREATIVE WITH YOUR SCHEDULE TO OVERCOME THE EXCUSES!

Also, be careful that those in your 12 are not giving you an excuse that you’ve been using yourself. If you excuse it, they will excuse it.

Remember that we are ALL too busy to be discipled and make disciples. But why cancel your purpose for your schedule? Why not change your schedule for the sake of your purpose?

If you’d lke to follow along on the teaching, you can access from the Power of 12 banner in the church app.

The teaching today will be part 3 of COMMAND #9, which focusus on…

HOW TO BUILD INFLUENCE WITH OUR PEOPLE

One major way we build influence on our people is WE BUILD INFLUENCE THROUGH OUR WORDS.
(Did you know our words can either build our people or destroy them? Our words will either build influence or lose influence. When we use words that build people we gain influence. When we use words that tear them down we lose influence.)
Take a look at this scripture that shows how powerful our words are.

Proverbs 18:21 (ESV) 21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.

We have to be very careful about what words are coming out of our motuhs.

Let’s take a look at the word Death from the previous scripture. Death in Hebrew is (maveth) which means ruin or curses.

Could it be that sometimes we’re ruining things or cursing things with our words?

Not only can we speak death, but we can also speak life. the word Life (chay) means growth, green of vegetation, flowing, fresh of water, reviving of the springtime, revival, or renewal.

Doesn’t speaking life sound so much better than speaking death?

Question: What words have been spoken over you that have built you up?

Question: What words can you use to build others?

LET’S BREAK DOWN 4 IMPORTANT POINTS ABOUT HOW IMPACTFUL OUR WORDS CAN BE.

1. ENCOURAGING WORDS BUILD INFLUENCE. (Lets make it our goal to Build their confidence in God and themselves . We should be there biggest cheer leader, advocate, fan and coach. We don’t criticize them we build them.)
1 Thessalonians 5:11 (ESV). Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.
The word Encourage in that scripture means to inspire with courage, spirit, or confidence: to stimulate by assistance, approval. An encourager is a builder and promotes growth in Christian wisdom, affection, grace, holiness, and blessedness.

2. EVERYTIME WE COME TOGETHER, WE COME WITH AN INTENTION OF ENCOURAGING EACH OTHER.

Hebrews 10:25 (ESV) 25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

3. OUR WORDS SHOULD BE A BLESSING TO THOSE WHO HEAR THEM. (We must take personal responsibility for the quality of words that come out of our mouths because our words are seeds that will produce what they are in the lives of those that are hearing them. Wow! What an awesome responsibility.)
Ephesians 4:29 (AMP) 29 Do not let unwholesome [foul, profane, worthless, vulgar] words ever come out of your mouth, but only such speech as is good for building up others, according to the need and the occasion, so that it will be a blessing to those who hear [you speak].

4. OUR WORDS SHOULD BRING OUT THEIR POTENTIAL. (Declare what you see them accomplishing for the kingdom of God. Speak life over them. Speak vision into them. Speak victory over them. Speak purpose over them. Plant the seeds of greatness in them and the harvest will come. Just speaking what they did wrong and criticizing them will not produce the harvest that we or they desire. Of course their are times that we need to correct them but never forget the correction is meant to keep them on the path to greatness not belittle them.

Matthew 16:18 (NLT) 18 Now I say to you that you are Peter (which means ‘rock’), and upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it.
