Let’s begin by looking at the definition of Prayer.

• Prayer is speaking to God, bringing Him all of my cares, requests and weakness.

• Prayer is also when God speaks to me, comforts me, strengthens me, guides me and reveals himself to me.

Luke 18:1 (NIRV)  Jesus told his disciples a story. He wanted to show them that they should always pray and not give up.

Question: How do we never stop praying?

Throughout our day, we are in constant communication with God. God has given us access to a restored relationship with Him. Instead of us needing to go to a temple to pray to Him, the Holy Spirit now dwells within us!

Question: How does it make you feel that the Holy Spirit dwells within you?

We must be cautious, because our prayers can be hindered.

Take a look at 1 Peter 3:7 NLT Treat her as you should so your prayers will not be hindered.

The word Hindered means to be “cut off.”

The main point here is that there are things that can hinder, or cut off our prayers from God. The enemy has set a war against prayer in the church. He does this by deceiving us with sin. When we sin without repentance, we are being deceived.

The word deceive means to cause someone to believe something that is not true.

Question: How are we deceived when we sin without repenting?

Satan is doing everything in his power to disconnect us from God. But thank God that He has given us a Way to connect with Him that no one can take away!

Romans 8:37-39 NLT No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. 38 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

We should not give up, because overwhelming victory is our through Christ Jesus! One area we should definitely never give up is PRAYER! No matter what season of life you’re in, never give up praying!
