DG LEADERSHIP LESSON

DONT FORGET ABOUT THE POWER SOURCE

4 TRUTHS ABOUT DEPENDING ON THE POWER OF GOD

TRUTH #1 – OUR SUCCESS AND THE SUCCESS OF THE CHURCH IS PRIMARILY DUE TO THE BLESSING AND POWER OF GOD. (God has given great systems, ideas, and people but by themselves it is not enough to accomplish a God given Vision. Apart from Him we can no nothing for Him.)

John 15:5 (CEV) I am the vine, and you are the branches. If you stay joined to me, and I stay joined to you, then you will produce lots of fruit. But you cannot do anything without me.

TRUTH #2 – IT IS GOD’S POWER AT WORK IN US THAT ENABLE OUR GOD SIZE DREAMS AND VISIONS TO COME TO PASS. (No dream/vision is too Big with God. The level of power active in our lives is dependent on how we let His power lead us. The first place that the Holy Spirit desires to lead is fellowship with Him. We don’t want to be believers that have a form of Godliness but deny His power to make us like Christ.)

Ephesians 3:20 (AMP) 20 Now to Him who is able to carry out His purpose and do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think- infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams, according to His power that is at work within us,

TRUTH #3 – WITH GOD “ALL THINGS” ARE POSSIBLE. (We will never accomplish a God vision unless we receive and believe that it can come to pass..)

Matthew 19:26 (CSB) Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

TRUTH #4 – A GOD VISION THAT IS ONLY DEPENDENT ON JUST HUMAN ABILITIES, POWER AND RESOURCES WILL BE IMPOSSIBLE TO ACCOMPLISH. (Only with God our we enough.)

Matthew 19:26 (AMP) But Jesus looked at them and said, “With people as far as it depends on them it is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

3 SPIRITUAL KEYS TO ACCESSING THE POWER OF GOD.

SPIRITUAL KEY #1 – A COMMITMENT TO PRAYER. (Spending time with the Holy Spirit, and talking with him shows that we value him, need him, love him, our guided by him and are dependent on him.)

Luke 18:1 (NLT) One day Jesus told his disciples a story to show that they should always pray and never give up.

  • A. EITHER WE PRAY OR STRESS. (The weight of a God vision is too heavy for us to carry alone. Prayer gives God access to empower us, bless us, give us his peace, guide us , and give us assurance. We must always choose relationship over task. If we choose our relationship with God others over task, we will always accomplish the task/vision.)

Insight: Prayer keeps our head on straight and keeps us emotionally healthy, and intelligent. Without prayer, who will be overwhelmed and see everything from the wrong perspective.

Philippians 4:6 (AMP) Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything, every circumstance and situation by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your specific requests known to God. 7 And the peace of God [that peace which reassures the heart, that peace] which transcends all understanding, that peace which stands guard over your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus is yours. (The peace of God is ours and we access it through prayer.)

Insight: Either God’s peace is guarding our minds and hearts from all demonic, defeated, depressed, hopeless victim, bitter, complaining, doubtful, anxious mindsets or a demonic stronghold is guarding our minds from receiving the love, vision, support, comfort, peace, joy, and blessings from God.

  • Anxious: (merim-nah-o) to be troubled with cares, to seek to promote one’s interest, to take thought.
  • Prayer: (pros-yoo-khay) prayer address to God, a place and time set apart and suited for offering prayer to God.
  • Petition: (dee-sis) Asking and seeking God for our needs, wants and specific requests.
  • Thanksgiving: (eucharistia) thankfulness, giving thanks, gratitude, grateful language to God as an act worship.
  • Peace: (eirene) tranquility, calm , free from mental and demonic disturbance, exemption from the rage, anger, war, and division. Peace between individuals, harmony, security (instead of insecurity), prosperity (peace and harmony make and keep things safe and prosperous), intense, happiness, and the blessed state of a believer assured of its salvation through Christ suffering nothing from God and contentment of spirit and rest. Insight: We can not receive anything from Gods unless we have an attitude of thanksgiving and faith. Those that pray are full of thanksgiving not bitterness, fear, anxiety, worry, depression, etc. . .

Insight: A sign that we are praying is our relationship are healthy, harmonious and we are not in distress and emotions.

  • B. JESUS PROMISES THAT WHATEVER WE ASK IN PRAYER HE WILL GIVE IT TO US.

Mark 11:24 (AMP) For this reason I am telling you, whatever things you ask for in prayer in accordance with God’s will, believe with confident trust that you have received them, and they will be given to you.

SPIRITUAL KEY #2 – ADD FASTING TO PRAYER.

  • A. FASTING IS A WAY THAT WE INTENTIONALLY GIVE ALL OUR ATTENTION TO GOD. (God can never ignore a fervent and passionate heart that is seeking Him.)

Daniel 9:3 (AMP) So I directed my attention to the Lord God to seek Him by prayer and supplications, with fasting, sackcloth and ashes.

  • B. FAITH TAKES OUR PRAYERS AND FAITH TO THE NEXT LEVEL. (Some victories, breakthrough will only happen when we add fasting to our prayers. Fasting and prayer builds , our faith in God because as we draw closer to him, he will draw closer to us and reveal himself, his will and we will know Him better.)

Mark 9:29 (VOICE) Jesus: 29 That sort of powerful spirit can only be conquered with much prayer and fasting.

SPIRITUAL KEY #3 – A HIGH PRIORITY ON VISION AND GOALS

  • A. VISION IS SEEING WHAT GOD IS DOING. (God can only accomplish His will and purpose on earth after he reveals it to a man or woman. God has chosen to partner up with man to build His Kingdom on earth the way it is heaven.)

Proverbs 29:18 (MESS) If people can’t see what God is doing, they stumble all over themselves; But when they attend to what he reveals, they are most blessed.

  • Vision: (hazon) divine communication, prophetic word/vision, a dream, revelation from God.
  • B. ABUNDANCE AND ADVANTAGE ONLY COME AFTER WE HAVE A VISION AND A PLAN OF ACTION FROM GOD.

Proverbs 21:5 (AMP) The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance and advantage, But everyone who acts in haste comes surely to poverty.

  • Plans: (mahasaba) thoughts, plans, purposes, inventions, imaginations, intentions, work, meditation, projects.
  • Diligent: (harus/haroots) One who is constant in effort to accomplish something, attentive and persistent in doing anything, strict decision, something decided, eager and dedicated.
  • Abundance: (motar) profit, plenty, gain, excellence, pre-eminence (surpassing all others)
  • Haste: (us/oots) in a hurry, one who takes action without thought, lack of careful consideration of possible consequences of action (rash)

  • C. GOD ALWAYS PARTNERS UP WITH PEOPLE THAT HAVE VISION, FAITH AND IMAGINATION. (Before we are healed, victorious, and prosperous, we must see ourselves healed, victorious and prosperous.)

Matthew 9:20-22 (NLT) 20 Just then a woman who had suffered for twelve years with constant bleeding came up behind him. She touched the fringe of his robe, 21 for she thought, “If I can just touch his robe, I will be healed.” 22 Jesus turned around, and when he saw her he said, “Daughter, be encouraged! Your faith has made you well.” And the woman was healed at that moment.
