JESUS: THE WAY TO SALVATION

TODAY’S PASSAGE:

John 3:31-36 (NLT) – 31 “He has come from above and is greater than anyone else. We are of the earth, and we speak of earthly things, but he has come from heaven and is greater than anyone else. 32 He testifies about what he has seen and heard, but how few believe what he tells them! 33 Anyone who accepts his testimony can affirm that God is true. 34 For he is sent by God. He speaks God’s words, for God gives him the Spirit without limit. 35 The Father loves his Son and has put everything into his hands. 36 And anyone who believes in God’s Son has eternal life. Anyone who doesn’t obey the Son will never experience eternal life but remains under God’s angry judgment.”

INTERACTIVE QUESTIONSWhat stood out to you from this Bible passage?
TRUTH #1JESUS IS GOD’S SON, SENT TO BRING US TO GOD (V. 31)
  • Jesus came from heaven as God’s Son, greater than any person on earth.
  • Our sins keep us apart from God, but Jesus’ life and death fix that problem.
  • When we see Jesus, we see God’s love and power shining through Him.

John 3:16 (NLT) – 16 “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so tha everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.”

  • This verse shows God’s huge love for us by sending Jesus to save us.
  • It promises that trusting Jesus gives us eternal life with God forever.
INTERACTIVE QUESTIONSHow can we practically make Jesus GREATER than anyone or anything in our lives?
TRUTH #2NOT EVERYONE BELIEVES IN JESUS (V. 32)
  • Jesus shared God’s truth, but some people don’t accept what He says.
  • Choosing “not yet” or “no” to Jesus means missing out on God’s plan for your life.
  • We should keep telling others about Jesus, even if they don’t believe at first.

Acts 26:28 (NLT) – 28 Agrippa interrupted him. “Do you think you can persuade me to become a Christian so quickly?”

  • Agrippa listened to Paul but wasn’t ready to follow Jesus yet.
  • This reminds us to pray for people to accept and receive Jesus in their lives.
INTERACTIVE QUESTIONSWhy do some people find it hard to believe in Jesus? How can we support them?
TRUTH #3BELIEVING IN JESUS GIVES US ETERNAL LIFE
(V. 33-36)
  • When we believe Jesus’ words, we show that God’s truth is real.
  • Jesus is the only one who can save us from sin because God chose Him.
  • Trusting and following Jesus means we’ll live with God forever.

Acts 4:12 (NLT) – 12 “There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.”

  • This verse says Jesus is the only way to be saved from our sins.
  • There is no other way. Without Jesus we are still under the judgement and wrath of God.
  • Receive Jesus to be set free from this judgement!
INTERACTIVE QUESTIONSHow has believing in Jesus made a difference in your life? Who can you share this with?
CLOSING QUESTIONWhat is one thing from today’s lesson you’ll put into action this week?

GIVING

Giving shows we’re thankful for God’s gifts and helps spread His love.

2 Corinthians 9:7 (NLT
You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give
reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.” Giving with joy shows we trust God to provide for us. Our gifts help the church share Jesus with more people. Encourage everyone to give their tithes and offerings.
