COMMAND #2 - PASS IT ON

PASS ON WHAT YOU’VE HEARD AND LEARNED TO FAITHFUL PEOPLE WHO WILL IN TURN PASS IT ON

Who are you intentionally passing your teachings to? (The answer to this needs to be specific and intentional.)
When are you passing on the information to them?

2 Timothy 2:2 NLT You have heard me teach things that have been confirmed by many reliable witnesses. Now teach (entrust) these truths to other trustworthy people who will be able to pass them on to others.

> Teach or Entrust (parathou): to set before someone in teaching, to set forth, to explain, to deposit, > to intrust. Assign the responsibility for doing something to someone

  • It’s once you begin sharing that you begin to grow.

  • The responsibility of teaching causes disciples to grow.

Matthew 9:36 NLT When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.

  • Jesus was the most powerful leader on the Earth. How do you know he was very effective?

  • You look at his disciples

  • His disciples did greater things than He did.

    • You cannot be released to another level until you teach your disciples to know and do what you know and do.

    • How do you get to the next level? By helping people get to the next level.

    • You have only succeeded until your disciples know AND do!

    • You have not succeeded if they only know, but don’t do.

DIFFERENT LEVELS OF LEADERSHIP:

1. Self Leadership – you allow yourself to be led
2. Lead Another – lead at least one person
3. Lead Others – lead a group of people
4. Lead Ministry/Organization – define the culture

Luke 16:10 NLT If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities.

  • To lead big, you have to begin leading small.

  • If you’re good at small, you’ll be great at big.

  • Consistency builds longevity.

  • Consistency builds character, accountability, discipline.

  • Your consistency builds your disciples.

  • If we don’t pass this on, who is going to be missed?

LEADERSHIP PRINCIPLE: Leadership is all about empowering and developing others to know and do what we know and do.
